Full Time Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant & MDSA (Combined Role)

A rare and unique opportunity has arisen to work as a full time Early Years’ Teaching Assistant in our welcoming and vibrant countryside C of E Primary School. Applications are warmly invited for the combined position of Teaching Assistant and MDSA, to work at our Lower School site in Dauntsey village and provide support to pupils in our Foundation Stage class.

The hours are Monday - Friday during term time as detailed below, excluding TD Days, with a 30 minute lunch break:

  • 8.30am – 12pm – TA
  • 12pm – 1pm – MDSA
  • 1.30pm – 3.15pm – TA

We are looking for someone who:

  • is committed to helping children to achieve their full potential;
  • will be a positive role model for pupils, whatever their needs and abilities;
  • have relevant work experience with Foundation Stage pupils;
  • will be self motivated, calm and supportive in nature.

As detailed above, you will be required to work as an MDSA from 12pm until 1pm each day. Our MDSAs support pupils during the lunchtime period, both while they are eating their lunch and at play. The role will involve supporting all the pupils at Lower School (Foundation Stage/ Year 1/Year 2), working with the other MDSAs to ensure that the lunchtime period runs smoothly and that the children benefit from positive play opportunities.

Although this role is advertised as being based at our Lower School site in Dauntsey,  some degree of flexibility is required in order to provide support where it is needed most. Work at our Upper School in Brinkworth may be required from time to time, e.g. to cover staff absences.

Salary Grade: Wiltshire Pay Scale Grade D (TA) & Grade B (MDSA)

Salary Band: Grade D: £19,264 - £20,043 FTE pa and Grade B £18,333 - £18,516 to be applied pro rata.

Location: Brinkworth Earl Danby’s Lower School, Dauntsey Green, Chippenham SN15 4HU

Contract Type/Term: Term Time Permanent

Hours: 31.25 per week total (26.25 as TA, 5 as MDSA)

Closing Date: We may choose to interview suitable candidates on receipt of application and the vacancy will close when a suitable candidate has been found, or 9am Mon 6th June, whichever is earliest.

Start Date: As soon as possible in Term 6 or Thu 1st Sep, dependent upon candidate availability and recruitment checks.
