Believe to Achieve! "Roots will grow down into God's love and keep us strong" EPH 3:17

Week Commencing 27.04.20

Hello Oak Class,

We hope you are enjoying your home learning and our new topic ‘Splendid Skies’.

It has been lovely to see some of your learning that has been sent via email. Please continue to send any pictures or documents of your learning. If you have any questions or just want to let us know of something that you have done then we will be checking the class email throughout the school days.

Please see below the learning activities and also check Purple Mash where we have set some 2Dos including a phonics task. These activities are all set to begin on Monday and to be handed in by Friday.

We hope you have been able to enjoy some of the sunshine.

We look forward to seeing some of your learning.

Stay safe,

Mrs Gaffney and Mrs Crossman

Topic – Shadow Play

Make shadows using a range of scientific and play equipment indoors and outdoors. Plot the course of a shadow regularly over a sunny day. Draw around the shadows at timed intervals to explore how they move.

Inside, you can make shadows using a light box and small world figures or 2-D shapes. When measuring shadows outside, think of fair ways of marking shadow size and shape, such as using the same place, object, unit of measurement or time intervals.

RE

Watch the story ‘The Lost Coin.’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0GLGovzpR0

Focus on the way the woman does not settle for just the coins she has – she searches for the missing coin. Discuss why. They all belong to her. Think about how Christians believe that God cares for everyone and notices when we are lost.

Draw a picture and write a few sentences about the moral of the story.

Art

Look at artist Berndnaut Smildes’s moving cloud installations. Think about how he made them.

Make your own cloud using bundles of bubble wrap, tissue, ribbon, cotton wool and any other materials that you can think of. Display your cloud in your bedroom.
