Mission Sentence At Brinkworth Earl Danby's School we believe that writing is an essential part of the curriculum; a subject that not only stands alone, but one that should be an integral part of all learning. Writing starts in English but is the key to developing skills across the curriculum. We ensure children to "exercise the writing muscle every day, even if it is only a letter, notes, a title list, a character sketch, or a journal entry," (Jane Yolen).
Inspiring Quotes
  • After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world. (Phillip Pullman)
  • There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they’ll take you.  (Beatrix Potter)
  • I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn. (Anne Frank)
  • The first draft is just you telling yourself the story. (Terry Pratchett)
